Local area kids and teens are invited to help us design logos for the new "Metamorphosis" and "Emerge" theatre programs. Winners will be announced at the Open House at The Fly Arts Center on Sunday, September 15th.
Do you have or know a creative kid or teen who loves art and theatre? Now is their chance to shine at The Fly Arts Center in Shelbyville, TN. Not only will they soon have the opportunity to learn and create on the stage, but they can also help The Fly design logos for their two new youth group programs.
"Metamorphosis" is an educational theatre group that will focus on teaching kids ages 5-12 the basics of putting together a production both on the stage and behind the scenes. Like a caterpillar creating a cocoon in order to grow and transition, this program will provide kids with the skills and inspiration they will need to grow in a community theatre setting.
Once kids become teens and begin to grow out of their "cocoons", they need an age appropriate place they continue learning. The "Emerge" group is designed to help participants ages 13-18 fine tune and further develop a variety of acting and production skills in all points of the theatre.
The Fly Arts Center invites kids and teens ages 5-18 to design and submit logos for one or both of these new youth theatre programs. Logos can be hand drawn or designed using a computer. Designs should be submitted no later than Friday, September 13, 2024 to Mary Margaret Edwards, Youth Program Committee Chair at mmedwards1406@gmail.com with child's name and their parent/guardian's contact information.
All submissions will be reviewed and winners will be announced at the official Open House for the new youth programs at The Fly Arts Center located at 204 S. Main St., Shelbyville, TN 37160 on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 2 pm to 3:30 pm for ages 5-12 and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm for ages 13-18. All kids, teens and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend the Open House to learn about these new programs and share their ideas.
