
NOTICE OF UPCOMING ELECTIONS
The Fly Arts Center announces upcoming elections of Executive Committee officers for the two-year term, serving from July 2026 until July 2028. These positions are voted on by Active Members of The Fly, who have current paid memberships for one calendar year.
The five positions include:

Below is the advanced timeline for voting, with details of by-laws and nomination process.

April:
A nomination committee consisting of three members of the council has been appointed by the Executive Board. Members of this committee are Dan Lindvig, Angelia James, and Nicole Rodriguez. This committee will preside over the nominations and election. At the regular member meeting in April (second Monday of the month, April 13, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fly Arts Center), the committee will take nominations for the five Executive Committee offices - President, Vice President 1, Vice President 2, Secretary, and Treasurer. Further nominations may also be made from the floor at the election meeting on May 13, 2026 provided the nominee is present or has given his or her consent.

Per Section 5.03. in the Bylaws of the Bedford County Arts Council, "to be eligible for nomination or election as an Executive Officer, an individual must:
a. Have been a member in good standing of the organization for at least one calendar year prior to the election.
b. Have completed a minimum of 60 volunteer hours with the organization within the last calendar year.
c. Meet any additional qualifications established by the Board of Trustees."
May:
Elections will take place at the regular member meeting in May (second Monday of the month, May 13, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fly Arts Center). You must be a member in good standing and be present to cast a vote and membership will be confirmed. No absentee ballots will be counted. The nominating committee will preside over the elections. Prior to the elections, the nominating committee will open the floor for any final nominations providing that the nominee is present or has given his or her consent. Ballots will be passed out to all members in good standing who are present. Ballots are anonymous, but numbered so the committee knows how many were handed out and how many are turned back in. Ballots will be counted the same evening in the main room of the Fly Arts Center and results will be announced the same evening as well.
June:
Elected officers will be installed at the regular member meeting in June (second Monday of the month, June 8, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fly Arts Center). All officers shall serve from the beginning of the fiscal year (July 1, 2026) through the end of two fiscal years (June 30, 2028), or until their successors are duly elected and installed.
