Examples of Artist Bio:
Sam has been creating art using his own mixed media technique for over 20 years. He is a graduate of The Art Institute of Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and has been featured in a number of fine arts publications, such as “Mixed Media America”. Sam’s work has been on exhibit at the Nashville Museum of Fine Art, the High Museum in Atlanta, GA, McClung Gallery at Northern Illinois University and the Society for Art-Chicago, to name a few. In addition to his work as an artist, Sam has worked as a professional graphic designer for several corporate business teams and advertising agencies. He recently moved from Naperville, IL and currently lives in Shelbyville, with his partner and three cats.

Reese is a self-taught artist who works with watercolors and acrylic paints and grew up in Bedford County. She has had a lifelong love for the visual arts and enjoys creating “how to” videos for her social media profiles to share her talents. Reese has a growing following online and stays busy with her many custom request commissions. Her work, which focuses on whimsical representations of animals in humorous situations, has been displayed locally at the Wartrace Emporium and The Coffee Break. When she isn’t paining, Reese works as a contractor and remodels historic homes and buildings with her husband, Stuart. 

Example of Artist Statement:
I use oil paints to disrupt the purity of the blank canvas with abstract shapes and lines. I feature very loosely interpreted seascapes and sunsets prominently. I've lived my whole life steps away from the Tennessee River, and I find it the most meaningful inspiration. My pieces attempt to join the joy of abandon with color to create bold, bright, daring pieces. Living in Tennessee for most of my life, I am no stranger to the natural world and create works that transport others to the magic of the forest, rivers, valleys and mountains.
