THE FLY ART GALLERY
SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER Featured ArtistS
The Fly Arts Center hosts a number of Featured Artist Exhibitions each year. Featured Artists not only receive a solo exhibition, but are invited to speak to our members and are the guest of honor during an opening reception.

Jake Mullen is a visual artist based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, whose work explores the complicated and often unpsoken space between service, sacrifice, faith, memory, and identity for the veteran community.
Working primarily in oil and charcoal, he draws heavily from his eleven years in U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, using the experiences of military life not simply as subject matter, but as a foundation for examining grief, brotherhood, betrayal, pride, guilt, and the lasting weight of what people are asked to carry.

Emily Ciecka is an artist and designer who creates meaningful, story-driven work that blends fine art and design. From custom artwork to building distinctive brands, her focus is on visuals that evoke emotion and connection.
Follow along on her Instagram or subscribe to her Get Inked newsletter for a closer look at her work and process.
If you have questions or just wanna talk about birds and art, she would love to hear from you.

Hannah Calvert is interested in the imperfections of nature and the natural beauty that's often overlooked in our everyday lives. Her work is rooted in observation and a desire to slow down, finding inspiration in the quiet, fleeting details of the world around us.

Hannah's work is rooted in earthy tones, expressive marks, and heavily layered texture, with florals and organic forms often emerging throughout. Created to bring a sense of warmth and groundedness into the spaces they inhabit, her paintings are an invitation to slow down, reconnect with nature, and find beauty in the everyday.

A jury committee reviews each art submission application to determine what art will be displayed and/or sold at The Fly Art Gallery. Featured Artists are artists who display artistic excellence and have a large enough collection of completed work to display at a solo exhibition.
