Each year the Carol and Jonathan Price Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship is awarded to at least one deserving Bedford County high school senior by Bedford County Arts Council (The Fly Arts Center). This year's recipient is Cascade High graduate Angela "Ella" Jefferson.

Jefferson plans to attend the University of Tennessee-Knoxville this fall as a music performance major in clarinet. In addition, she will be a part of the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, and plans on minoring in business and photography. The $1,000 scholarship awarded to Ella will help her continue her passion for the arts.

"I love music and the arts," beamed Jefferson as she was awarded the scholarship check by The Fly's President Jody Barnes-Turner and Vice President Jennifer Dawn Smith.

"During difficult times in my life, music has been there to help me through," continued Jefferson."The arts have always provided a place where I most feel at home. I hope to share that with others in the future."

The Carol and Jonathan Price Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship was created in 2020 to honor the memories of the founder of the Bedford County Arts Council, Carol Price, and her son Jonathan Price. Both were enthusiastic supporters of the arts in our local area.

The scholarship is awarded each year to at least one deserving Bedford County high school senior planning to continue their education in the area of the arts at a college or university, including visual arts, performing arts, literary arts or music.

Seniors from any high school in Bedford County, TN (public, private and homeschool) may apply to receive the scholarship at https://www.flyartscenter.com/scholarship no later than March 15th of each year.
