About the Event
Shelbyville's first Day of the Dead celebration will be hosted by The Fly Arts Center as "El Dia de los Muertos Arts & Souls Festival" on Saturday, October 26th from 10am to 4pm. ADMISSION IS FREE!
Join us for an interactive cultural learning and entertainment experience centered around this unique holiday that celebrates Hispanic culture and traditions with altars of remembrance, food, music, dancers, art, crafts, face painting and so much more. The Day of the Dead holiday is known for colorful decorations, energetic music and elaborate displays that demonstrate the Hispanic culture’s strong sense of love and respect for ancestors, while celebrating the continuance of life.
