Summary: Radium Girls is a 2000 play by D.W. Gregory based on the true story of young women who painted glow-in-the-dark watch dials in the 1920s, then suffered a mysterious, fatal illness due to radium poisoning. The play follows dial painter Grace Fryer as she fights her former employer, the U.S. Radium Corporation, and her own family to seek justice and establish workplace safety regulations, a case that became a landmark victory for labor rights and workers' compensation.
